Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts carefully in full compliance with the guidelines outlined below.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Types of Manuscripts
MEBJ publishes original research articles presenting novel empirical findings or conceptual contributions that have not been published elsewhere. Manuscripts must provide sufficient methodological detail, clear presentation of results, and well-developed discussions to enable critical evaluation. Submissions should remain scholarly and analytical, avoiding advocacy-oriented arguments. To ensure the integrity of the double-blind review process, authors must not include any identifying information within the manuscript text, except on the title page.

Language
All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and academically appropriate English.

Article Length
Manuscripts should range between 3,000 and 5,000 words. Submissions that fall significantly outside this range may be returned for revision prior to review. The word count excludes tables, figures, references, and appendices.

Formatting
Manuscripts must be prepared on A4 paper using 12-point Times New Roman font with 1.5 line spacing (except for block quotations). Files should be submitted in Microsoft Word format following the journal template.

Tables and Figures
All tables and figures must be of high quality and embedded within the manuscript at appropriate locations. Each should be sequentially numbered and accompanied by a clear and descriptive title, with sources properly indicated.

Research Instruments
For studies involving surveys or experiments, authors should include relevant instruments (e.g., questionnaires or interview protocols) as appendices.

2. Manuscript Structure

Title
The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the core focus of the study. It should not exceed 16 words and should avoid uncommon abbreviations.

Authors and Affiliations
Provide complete author names and institutional affiliations, including location details. Clearly indicate the corresponding author where applicable.

Abstract
The abstract should briefly cover the research objectives, background, novelty, methodology, key findings, and main conclusions, avoiding unnecessary detail.

Keywords
Include up to four relevant keywords immediately after the abstract to facilitate indexing and searchability.

Introduction
This section should outline the research purpose, background, and contribution, linking the study to existing literature.

Literature Review
Present a coherent discussion identifying research gaps, supported by recent and reputable scholarly sources.

Methodology
Describe the data, research design, analytical methods, and procedures in sufficient detail to ensure transparency and rigor.

Results and Discussion
Clearly present findings and interpret them in relation to the research objectives and existing literature.

Conclusion
Summarize key findings, highlight implications, and suggest directions for future research while acknowledging limitations.

Indonesian Context Relevance
If non-Indonesian data are used, authors must explain the relevance of the findings to the Indonesian context.

Acknowledgment
Recognize funding sources and contributors, if applicable.

References
All references must follow APA style (6th edition) and include only cited works.

3. Citation Guidelines

All citations must adhere to APA style. Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley) and prioritize recent, high-quality sources. Excessive self-citation should be avoided. Direct quotations should be used sparingly and formatted appropriately, while footnotes should be limited to supplementary information only.
